Who we are
me2 Accessibility is a specialist digital accessibility consultancy founded in 2016 by Kevin Galvin, based in Australia and working with customers globally. We help teams create and maintain accessible websites, web applications, mobile apps and documents, and we certify them when they get there.
Our work helps organisations meet the Disability Discrimination Act and the Digital Service Standard, and gives every customer an equally good experience, whatever their ability, age or technology. Between them, our consultants bring more than 50 years' experience in digital accessibility. They have delivered more than 500 WCAG audits, certifications and VPATs for government, enterprise, education and not-for-profit organisations, across Australia and globally.
When you engage me2, the senior consultants named on this page are involved in the work and oversee it. They scope it, run and quality-check the testing with real assistive technologies, sign off the findings, and answer your developers' questions.
That also means someone is accountable. A WCAG certificate from me2 carries our names, in the same way an engineer signs off a structure. There is always a specific answer and a specific person behind the work, not an automated report.

Kevin Galvin
Principal Consultant and Founder
Kevin has worked in digital accessibility for more than 25 years, across Australia, Ireland and the UK. He was a Senior Digital Accessibility Consultant at Vision Australia from 2013 to 2016 before founding me2 in October 2016, and his career spans the full project lifecycle, from analysis and design through to deployment and maintenance. His early training and experience were in web development and design.
He has contributed to the W3C Accessibility Guidelines Working Group, the international group responsible for WCAG 2.2 itself. That standards work means me2 audits explain what the guidelines actually require, and how to meet them in your code.
Kevin's day-to-day work for clients includes:
- Accessibility audits, reviews and certification up to WCAG 2.2, to Level AA. Level AAA is available on request but is rarely required
- Enterprise accessibility strategy and implementation plans, including skills-gap analysis and risk assessment
- Facilitating user testing with people who rely on assistive technologies
- Helping developers resolve complex technical issues with practical HTML, CSS, JavaScript and ARIA solutions
- Auditing and remediating PDF and Word documents
- Supporting tenders, procurement and vendor assessments
Kevin also wrote me2's accessibility training courses, covering developers and testers, designers and UX teams, content authors, and PDF and Word document accessibility. He has been delivering accessibility training for more than 15 years.
As Principal Consultant, Kevin leads me2's largest engagements: long-running accessibility programs in retail, state and federal government, and public transport.

Pierre Frederiksen
Senior Accessibility Consultant
Pierre is a respected digital accessibility consultant with more than 25 years' experience across the government, corporate and not-for-profit sectors. He has worked both in-house and as a consultant, and his work spans strategic advice and detailed technical consulting.
If you have used the free tools on this site, you have used Pierre's work. He designed and coded every one of them: the Colour Contrast Determinator, Map Colouriser, accessible drag and drop, auto-suggest control, accessible modal dialog and infotip, along with accessibility toolbars for Word documents and complex data tables used in client work.
Pierre works at the deep technical end of accessibility: identifying issues in complex websites and native mobile apps, then giving developers working fixes in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and ARIA. He tests daily against WCAG 2.2 and the accessibility standards Apple and Google set for iOS and Android. He works with JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver and TalkBack, with low-vision software such as ZoomText, and with voice recognition tools.

What we do for clients
Most engagements start with an accessibility audit, and the report is built to be acted on rather than filed.
- Find. Every issue located, with the failing success criterion, a severity rating and a screenshot.
- Plan. Issues grouped by type and by template, so you can allocate resources and fix once rather than page by page.
- Fix. Working HTML, CSS, JavaScript and ARIA for each finding, so developers are not left interpreting the standard.
Because we sample by template and test the transactional journeys end to end, the result reflects the accessibility of your whole site, not just the pages we happened to open.

We help write the standard
Kevin has contributed to the W3C Accessibility Guidelines Working Group, the group behind WCAG 2.2. When me2 tests your site against the standard, you are working with people involved in the standard itself.
We wrote the training
Our five accessibility training courses were written in-house. Kevin has been delivering that training for more than 15 years, to developers, designers, content authors and document teams.
We built the tools
The free accessibility tools and code patterns on this site, from the Colour Contrast Determinator to our accessible modal dialog, were designed and coded in-house by Pierre, and are used by developers and designers well beyond our client list.

Government and public sector
Our largest practice. Long-term audit and certification programs for the NDIS, the Victorian Department of Health and the NSW Department of Communities and Justice, covering high-traffic, forms-heavy services such as online court registries, redress applications and housing platforms.
Transport and public services
Working with Queensland's Department of Transport and Main Roads since 2000 on many projects. These include TransLink's Journey Planner and Smart Ticketing websites and its customer portals.
E-commerce and retail
A preferred supplier of accessibility services to Coles since 2002, auditing Coles Online, Flybuys, First Choice Liquor and the Coles native apps against WCAG 2.2. We also test Catch Connect, OnePass Mobile and other high-volume transactional retail.
Telecommunications and internet
Accessibility testing across the buy-and-manage journeys for Optus and Aussie Broadband: plan selection, device and add-on configuration, checkout, account login and self-service portals.
Banking, finance and insurance
Accessibility audits and certification for Australian banks and insurers, including Commonwealth Bank, Westpac and Bupa. We also audit Coles Insurance, whose quote-and-buy platform is separate from the Coles retail sites.
E-learning and education
Testing of e-learning platforms and courseware built in Articulate Rise, Articulate Storyline, Moodle and custom LMS builds. Engagements include QUT, Swinburne and the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC).
Native mobile apps
iOS and Android testing with VoiceOver and TalkBack on real devices, including React Native apps, for retail, transport and justice clients.
International and cross-border compliance
Australian and New Zealand companies selling into the United States and Europe come to us for the testing and documentation those markets require. For SiteMinder we tested the embeddable hotel booking widget used by properties worldwide. Alongside each audit we deliver VPATs, EU accessibility statements and WCAG certificates.
Not-for-profit and disability
Long-running work with disability and health organisations, and with the digital agencies who build for them. Clients include Macular Disease Foundation Australia, Aruma and Feros Care.
Frequently asked questions
Who will actually carry out my accessibility audit?
A senior consultant. Kevin Galvin and Pierre Frederiksen lead every me2 engagement, and nothing is offshored or white-labelled. The people who scope your project are the people who oversee the testing, sign off the findings, answer your developers' questions and sign the certificate.
Can AI or automated tools replace a manual accessibility audit?
Not yet, and not completely. Automated tools reliably catch a minority of WCAG failures, mostly code-level issues such as missing alternative text or colour contrast. They cannot tell you whether a screen reader user can actually complete your checkout, whether a focus order makes sense, or whether an error message is understandable. They also produce false positives that cost developers time. me2 uses no automated scanning as a substitute for human testing. Every finding is verified by a senior consultant using real assistive technology.
Is a WCAG certificate from me2 recognised in Australia?
There is no government-run WCAG certification scheme in Australia. Conformance is asserted by the organisation and supported by evidence. A me2 WCAG Compliance Certificate is independent third-party evidence that a named senior consultant tested the product against WCAG 2.1 or 2.2 Level AA and recorded the result. That is what procurement panels, legal teams and Disability Discrimination Act complaints ask to see. We also issue Statements of Conformance and VPATs for US and European requirements.

me2 Accessibility is based in Australia and works with customers globally. We run long-running programs in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. We also work with Australian and New Zealand companies selling into the United States and Europe. Testing is carried out remotely, so location is rarely a constraint, and we produce the VPATs and accessibility statements those markets require.
